We will help you complete a form detailing your entire work history. This will enable the provider to differentiate between the many different exposures to toxins described in your work history.

Entails the measurement of height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate. The Occupational History Questionnaire will be assessed for active problems, current medications, and medical referral needs.

 A pulmonary function test is utilized to discover any obstructions or restrictions an individual may have in their air passage. The possibility of eight attempts are given in order to obtain three acceptable efforts.

A single view chest x-ray will be performed. All images will be forwarded to a B-reader that specializes in reading for occupational lung diseases with a certification from the National Institute on Safety and Health.

An electrocardiogram (EKG) is a graphic recording of the electrical activity of the heart. Inclusion of this test provides a basic evaluation of the heart.

NOWCAP Black Lung & Respiratory Diseases Clinic will pay for this screening in full. Your insurance (if any) will be billed first. If they don’t pay for anything or pay for part of it, we pay for the remainder of the bill. There is absolutely NO COST for you.
